TOSCA includes three partners in France and a collaboration with Switzerland.
Our team mixes strong involvement in Euclid (Kunz, Pettorino, Starck, Kilbinger, Farrens) and SKAO (Ferrari, Prunet, Kunz, Pettorino, Starck), and complementary experience on radio map reconstruction, signal processing, deep learning, weak lensing and theory.
CEA Paris-Saclay: Valeria Pettorino (TOSCA P.I.), Jean-Luc Starck, Martin Kilbinger, Samuel Farrens, Francois Lanusse, Lisa Goh.
Part of TOSCA will take place at CosmoStat Laboratory, at CEA Astrophysics Department. CEA is a key contributor to Euclid, with involvement in management responsibilities, pipeline development and scientific outcome. CEA is also among the institutions supporting SKA France.
Observatoire de La Côte d’Azur: André Ferrari, Simon Prunet, Cedric Richard
WP1 of TOSCA will take place in the data processing group of Laboratoire J.-L. Lagrange, within Observatoire de la C.te d’Azur. The group has renowned expertise in data processing, machine learning and large-scale processing, with special interest in applications to radio astronomy. Nice OCA is one of the main contributors to SKA France, which gives access to the expertise and knowledge related to SKA development: members of the group participate actively in HPC and Big Data initiatives of SKA-France, the strategic coordinator of SKA activities in France gathering academic and industrial partners.
ENSI Caen: Jalal Fadili
Part of TOSCA (WP2) will take place in the Image group of GREYC UMR CNRS 6072, ENSICAEN. The GREYC laboratory has strong research activity in various aspects of computer science, from data science, machine learning and mathematical informatics. In particular, the Image group of GREYC has recognized expertise in inverse problems for imaging, optimization and statistical learning.
Univ. Genève: Martin Kunz
Part of TOSCA (WP3) will be supported by the group of M. Kunz at the Theoretical Physics department of the University of Geneva. M. Kunz expertise is focused on computing predictions for beyond-LCDM models, on testing them with cosmological data, and on large numerical simulations. His group is also involved in the HIRAX radio telescope (SKA precursor).
